If he wants to run around, no chain will stop him. He will break it and run away. And when he’s had enough he comes and shows his neck like he’s saying, “Leash me, I’m ready.”

But, the freedom loving dog lived up to his name during the trying times of floods this past summer.

When Andreev’s town was taken over by floods, they left with their dog to reside with friends.

During the third day of their stay, Druzhok went missing. Then the search started…

He was found guarding the house of Andreevs.

The dutiful dog was guarding the house so strictly that he wasn’t even letting rescue workers inside let alone anybody else. He was sitting on the front steps of the house.

When the dog saw Andreev looking for him, he willingly left the steps and started to swim towards his family.

Elana Andreev was in tears when he said…

“It’s deep here. He couldn’t run, he had to swim. The dog stood on the top step of the porch in the cold water all night.

We sailed into the yard and saw him. He was standing there and trembling, and wouldn’t move away from his place. But when he saw us he was so happy. We took him into the boat and he rushed to lick us. We all were so happy.”
